Beleaguered communities across Stirling are on high alert for more flooding just as they have begun to recover from severe flooding earlier this month.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency has issued the alert as the region gets set to be battered by Storm Babet.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for much of Scotland, including in Stirling and Clackmannanshire. The warning is in place from 6am today until 6am on Saturday. “The locations at greatest risk are mostly in eastern parts, eg areas draining the Ochills, but impacts elsewhere remain a possibility. SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear here as the situation changes.”
“Across northern Scotland, 50-75mm of rain is expected with the highest ground in the region likely seeing in excess of 100mm.”Further north, in Angus and Aberdeenshire, the Met Office has issued a rare red weather warning for “exceptional rainfall expected to cause severe flooding and disruption”.Scotrail has already taken the decision to suspend certain rail services from the start of service today , including between Dunblane and Perth.
