The Mid-North Coast and Hunter region is bracing for the possibility of more rain over very wet catchments today and the BOM has warned of increased storm activity over the weekend.
However the weather system is slowly losing its ferocity and rainfall predictions have been downgraded.
The low pressure system that has hammered the state will eventually weaken and dissipate completely but not before a cold front from Victoria travels north, bringing an increase in rainfall over the weekend.Supplies of essential goods are expected to be replenished across the NSW North Coast today, as devastated communities continue to grapple with the clean-up.
"Lennox Head and Suffolk Park actually opened late [yesterday] afternoon alongside Goonellabah and Wollongbar, they'll be open for trading," he said. Former Lismore mayor and current HART transport services CEO Isaac Smith has been using his service to help people in Lismore and is "praying" fuel trucks arrive soon.
