Major flood warnings have been issued in south-east Queensland, while several vehicles were caught in floodwater on Thursday morning amid widespread rainfall.
Officers were doorknocking residents in Grantham, west of Brisbane, as a precaution, given the town regularly floods. The rain forced dozens of roads to close across the state, while emergency services continued to respond to vehicles in floodwater.In Caboolture on Thursday morning, the Queensland Ambulance Service said vehicles were caught on Beachmere Road at 7am, but no one was injured or required transport to hospital.
“Over the coming days we are expecting rain areas to continue across central and eastern Queensland,” she said.
