The Environment Agency say flooding is 'expected' and are urging people in the affected areas to 'act now'
Flood warnings have been issued in parts of Warrington on Saturday night. Heavy rain is forecast in the area, and the Environment Agency says as a result 'tides are expected to be higher than usual' on the Mersey Estuary 'due to the forecast weather conditions during coming tides.'
The warning for Fiddlers Ferry - which includes the Sailing Club, The Ferry Tavern and Riverside Trading Estate, is in place between 11:45pm tonight and 12:15am tomorrow. During the same period, a warning is in force for Chester Road between Brian Bevan Island and Arpley Railway Bridge; and Arpley Road. The EA are advising people to 'stay away from footpaths and roads close to the river as conditions will be dangerous.'
