The man who supplied the flowers given to medallists at the 2000 Games reveals his floral arrangements came very close to not arriving at the starting line.
Mr Creer had pestered the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games to be the official flower provider from when the city was announced as the host seven years earlier.
"It was only three days before the Olympics started that I got a phone call from my growers to say I would get them in time. "Honour, pride for my country, a love of Australian natives and working with a great group of florists and designers from both Sydney and regional Australia," she said.
