Florida man worries meth might be fake, asks deputies to test it
SPRING HILL, Florida — A Florida man who reportedly had purchased some methamphetamine became concerned when he didn’t get the sensation he expected from taking the drug. So he decided to get some experts to test its authenticity.The deputies obliged. It ended up with Thomas Colucci, 41, being taken to jail on multiple drug-related charges, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
When deputies arrived, Colucci told them he had purchased meth at a bar, authorities say. He reportedly used some of the drug but became suspicious it might be bath salts, telling deputies he was an experienced drug user and “knew what it should feel like.” One problem: It wasn’t fake, according to the sheriff’s office. A field test on a sample showed the substance in both baggies was meth. Colucci was then arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
