An Orlando amusement park will take down a drop tower ride after 14-year-old Tyre Sampson fell to his death in March this year after he wasn’t properly secured in to the ride.

A drop tower ride will be demolished months after a teenage rider plummeted to his death

Sampson died from blunt force trauma when he hit the ground. The FreeFall took park guests nearly 430 feet into the air, and Sampson fell at least 100 feet from the ride. ‘We are devastated by Tyre’s death,’ said Orlando Slingshot, the company that operates the ride at ICON Park. ‘We have listened to the wishes of Tyre’s family and the community, and have made the decision to take down the FreeFall’
