Flossmoor Mayor Michelle Nelson seeks the pubic's help in trying to convince Trader Joe's to open a store on the Vollmer Road strip.
An unabashed fan of the mac & cheese bites sold by Trader Joe’s, Flossmoor Mayor Michelle Nelson would love for the retail chain to set up shop in her south suburb. She and residents are pressing for the company to open a store in Flossmoor, part of a broader effort to develop about 30 acres of village-owned land for commercial use. “Trader Joe’s would complement and provide a diverse and delicious array of products,” Nelson said.
“We are trying to draw attention to that area,” Nelson said. The village is trying to attract family entertainment, retail and dining, Nelson said. “We’re working hard to find the right mix of entertainment, retail and dining options that will not only appeal to residents of the village but the Southland as a whole,” she said.
