The NSW Government has changed COVID19 restrictions for hospital visits, after countless families were unable to see loved ones before their deaths. The rules may change between hospitals if there are an increase in infections. EXTRA: 9News
Almost 30,000 Australians were recorded as having committed at least one COVID-19-related offence in 2020-21, new data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics has found.
In the 2020-21 financial year, 29,218 offenders were recorded by police as having committed a COVID-19 related offence, such as a failure to comply with directives issued under state or territory Public Health Acts. Victoria recorded 79 per cent of these offenders, coinciding with the state's harsher lockdown restrictions.
The overall number of criminal offenders - for any crime, not just COVID-19 related - fell in 2020-21 by 4 per cent to 359,975 people.
