The awards celebrate the most outstanding regional food and drink talent
The much-anticipated Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards, which honours the regional hospitality industry's most talented, will be back at a new venue and a new time of year.
Back in May, organisers confirmed the actual festival, which takes place ahead of the awards ceremony, would be 'having a breather' for the first time in the events' 25-year history, bar missing a year to the pandemic.Speaking at the time, festival director Alexa Stratton-Powell said: “After 25 years of staging the Manchester Food and Drink Festival we will be taking a break in 2023.
Alexa Stratton Powell, director of MFDF Awards, commented: "We are pleased to announce that the awards will be taking place at a new time of year. This decision was made after careful consideration around best timing for the hospitality sector. Last year, Stockport's Where The Light Gets In scooped Best Restaurant, while Another Hand on Deansgate Mews won Best Newcomer, and Eddie Shepherd, chef-patron of The Walled Gardens in Whalley Range, took home the award for Best Chef.
