A new report predicts foot and mouth disease would deliver a $1.1 billion hit to the Queensland economy and the loss of 34,000 jobs if it entered Australia.

The AEC report, commissioned by Regional Development Australia Central,

predicts western Queensland would face gross regional product losses of 37.3 per cent.
