The suspensions followed a Friday night fight.
Pike County High School and Headland High School have suspended football operations “until further notice,” according to posts from both schools.as both teams played in Brundidge Friday night. Reportedly, multiple players protested a hard hit by a Headland player. The Pike County player that was tackled during play appeared to collapse on the sidelines and was taken off the field by Pike County coaching staff members,After a short attempt to resume play, a fight broke out.
Henry County’s Headland High and Headland Middle are suspending all football, including JV and middle school, while the Alabama High School Athletics Association investigates the situation.“All homecoming events are currently on pause” as well at Pike County High. The school will continue with dress up days.
