Ford hints at high-performance F-150 Lightning concept.
The graphic in questions is broken up into four parts. The first is focused on the S650 generation Mustang and the racing series that it will join, including NASCAR, ISMA, and SRO. Another takes a look at Ford’s involvement in off-road motorsports, with a Bronco logo on full display in the center. Sitting beneath the logo sits a silhouette of a truck, which resembles the upcoming
. The third slot details the tech transfer potential related to the F1 deal with Red Bull. The final part of the graphic details Ford’s previous EV demonstrator vehicles, with the silhouette of an F-150 Lightning at the center., which utilizes seven electric motors to provide 1400 horsepower to all four wheels. The Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 is featured as well, which is capable of laying down 8-second quarter-mile passes.
Ford hasn’t given any hints as to when we can expect this new F-150 Lightning concept to arrive, or what the upgrade package might entail. That said, the truck’s own name might be a good hint at what we can expect. Thewas a genuine street truck, equipped with a raucous supercharged V-8 engine and lowered suspension. Perhaps Ford will take another lesson from its back catalog and give us a speed-oriented take on the electric Lighting.
