Sydney's breakfast radio ratings were again dominated by 2GB's Ben Fordham while ABC Sydney host James Valentine saw a fifth consecutive drop in his audience share.
Fordham claimed 17.1 per cent of Sydney’s primetime radio audience with a jump of 1.6 per cent in ratings, the biggest of any station in the primetime slot, placing him 4.6 per cent ahead of his nearest competitor.
“Almost 100 years after 2GB started broadcasting, the brand is stronger than ever. Keep listening because the best is yet to come.” Across AM and FM radio the top six ratings were led by 2GB ahead of KIIS 106.5 before Sydney ABC with 9.9 per cent, WSFM at 7.7 per cent, SmoothFM recording 6.8 per cent and Nova 96.9’s Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli with a 6.5 per cent share.
The drop in ratings also spells danger for the station as the ratings continue to fall following the departure of former hosts Wendy Harmer and Robbie Buck at the beginning of the year.
