Nottingham Forest's long-awaited return to the top-flight is finally over NFFC
Nottingham Forest are back in the Premier League for the first time since 1999 as Levi Colwill’s own goal saw them beat Huddersfield 1-0 in the Championship play-off final.
Despite the Tricky Trees’ domination, Huddersfield cleared their lines well, frequently deploying Sorba Thomas down on the left flank as the Terriers tried to hit their opponents on the break.
Forest began to invite the pressure as the second half ticked on, and soon, VAR was called into action for the first time.Harry Toffolo wasn’t pleased with the referee’s decision “He does catch him, that’s a pen. Penalty!” former EFL manager Ian Holloway said on talkSPORT’s commentary of the game.It wasn’t to be for HuddersfieldThe Terriers had another penalty shout dismissed not long after, with referee Jon Moss – who was officiating his final game – being unsighted as Max Lowe kicked through Lewis O’Brien’s leg.
