Alaska State Troopers say Ben Stevens, the son of former U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens who once served as chief of staff to Gov. Mike Dunleavy, had a medical emergency during a hike near Seward last night and couldn't be resuscitated. (via AlaskaBeacon)
by a leading Anchorage Republican group attributed Stevens’ death to a heart attack and said he was hiking with his wife when he abruptly collapsed. The post did not indicate when he died.
“Ben was a valued leader at ConocoPhillips Alaska and leaves a significant legacy in the state of Alaska. Ben will be deeply missed not only by his family and colleagues, but in the broader Alaska community,” the statement said.
