Former anti-Islamic State fighter Ashley Dyball has been sentenced to three years in jail for a "cruel and hideous cover up" after the murder of 22-year-old Samuel Thompson.but guilty of interfering with Mr Thompson's body after a trial.
Dyball, 28, assisted another man, Roberto Vincenzo Boscaino, by helping him move Mr Thompson's body, drove with him to the Beerburrum State Forest and helped him dig a shallow grave.The Supreme Court heard Mr Thompson was murdered by Boscaino on March 7, 2017 at his Bald Hills home after a plan to rob the cannabis dealer.
Justice Martin Burns sentenced Dyball to three years' jail for the improper treatment of a corpse but because he's already been in jail for 1251 days, he will be released immediately.
