While she wishes the best for the next Australian Diamonds coach, Lisa Alexander says the national program faces several challenges ahead as it looks to stay ranked number one in the world.

After being the spearhead of Australian netball from 2011 until earlier this year, Lisa Alexander's love for the game remains as strong as ever.

"Of course, I led it and that's important. But I had a fantastic team of support staff and players that bought into the vision and worked hard, and that's what I'm most proud of." "Yes, it will be harder. It is just harder in sport full stop … there's more demands on the coach these days," Alexander said.

"It is a completely different scenario to be able to stop a team halfway through a quarter and tell them to change tactics. "I've heard some of the umpires say the rolling subs make a lot more sense than having silly injury timeout debacles," she said."I really enjoyed using them in the bushfire charity game because it enabled me to exploit the depths and talent we had. We had 14 players that day, so I used it as much I could."Another factor that will make things difficult for the next Australian coach is the unlimited amount of imports in Super Netball.

Speaking on the Australian podcast The Netty Life this week, Greenway admitted the unlimited imports in Super Netball had definitely helped England's cause. The amount of imports dominating the shooting circle has also left Australia with a shortage of specialist goal shooters to pick from for the national team.
