EXCLUSIVE: Michael McIntyre was a Scottish Government driver for top officials for a decade before a cancer fight pushed his career into the slow lane.
A former chauffeur for Nicola Sturgeon has claimed the Scottish Government froze him out of the job he loved after he battled cancer.
The dad-of-two was eventually allowed to do short driving jobs but said his hours behind the wheel were a fraction of his previous responsibilities. Michael, who was then living in Glasgow, found himself offered few driving jobs by the Government Car Service . Michael found himself behind a desk at the Scottish Government base in Glasgow as part of the GCS house team.
Michael said he was tempted to quit "every other week". He added: "I just didn't want to give in. It felt like I was being punished."
