An iconic Glasgow nightclub is set to relaunch for the first time in eight years.
Iconic city venue The Arches will return in a new series of danceWhile the space reopened as Platform in 2018, these events - titled NewWatchtower founder Tom Ketley hopes that New World will appeal to clubbers who share fond memories of The Arches as well as the younger generation who never got to experience it."It’s been closed since 2015.
"I think for us, a lot of venues have closed down in recent years. And I think that we want to keep it special and I think that there’s a lot of oversaturation with so many events coming back into the market, that we actually want to just keep this as a sort of short thing."for over 20 years, with big events over the years including Slam, which featured Underworld and electronic duo Daft Punk in their first UK performance.
It was so treasured that over 40,000 people petitioned to reinstate the licence when bosses had it removed.New World will launch this winter, with the full line-up for the event being announced on Tuesday, September 12.
