Guinea’s borders closed after gunmen storm prison and free ex-junta boss along with three others

, Moussa Dadis Camara, was sprung from prison by armed men in Conakry in the early hours of Saturday along with three other high-ranking officers, the country’s justice minister said.

The announcement by the justice minister, Charles Alphonse Wright, came several hours after heavy gunfire erupted in the Kaloum district of the capital, Conakry.“We will find them. And those responsible will be held accountable,” Wright told local Radio Fim FM.Residents near Kaloum said shots were first heard at about 4am local time after which security was tightened on the streets and the entrance to Kaloum was blocked.

By late morning, the capital appeared calm with many soldiers still visible in some areas, ordering people to stay at home, Mmah Camara, a resident of Tombo district, said by phone. Camara has denied responsibility.
