Former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber III, who was found dead in his Texas apartment in June, died of heatstroke, a medical examiner's report says.
The manner of Barber's death is listed as an"accident," according to the Collin County Medical Examiner's Office. On June 1, police responded to a welfare concern at an apartment believed to be leased by the 38-year-old in Frisco, just north of Dallas, where Barber was found. Barber spent seven years in the NFL, six with the Cowboys, before ending his career with the Chicago Bears. He was drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round in 2005 out of the University of Minnesota.
