Former Steele Knights quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. is being called a hero after rescuing a family from a burning home Monday night in Gulfport, Mississippi.
“Saw a bunch of smoke, so I just started grabbing bricks and throwing them through the window,” he toldArmstrong said he crawled into the home through a window, picked up his mom’s neighbor and got her out of the burning house.
“At the end of the day, I was just trying to find her. I’ve known her since I was a little kid,” he said of the woman in distress. The home had major damage after the fire, which was started by an electrical outlet overloaded with a space heater, WLOX reported.
