Dean Woods was found last week after a major manhunt – sparked when he absconded from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire when he was on day release while serving a 12 year sentence for his part in an £8m cocaine ring.
The sister of missing Alexandria mum Lisa Brown has demanded to know why the former suspect in her disappearance was able to go on the run for eight months.
Lisa, then aged 32, was reported missing after failing to collect her young son from school in Guadiaro, near San Roque. The 57-year-old said: “We just cannot understand why he was allowed out on day release in the first place. “The police have done their job and got him back behind bars. It was whoever made the decision to put him into that prison in the first place that has questions to answer.Lisa was reported missing after failing to pick up her son from school on November 4, 2015 and her loved ones have been battling for justice ever since, including putting up a £100,000 reward for information.
Woods will face no further charges relating to the prison escape due to the specific requirements of the latest warrant.
