Christopher Belli, 48, assaulted his wife after becoming jealous when she met with her former husband.
The former acting headteacher of a secondary school beat and harassed his wife after he became jealous when she met up with her former husband.
Gloucester Crown Court heard that the assault came after she met up with her first husband and Belli had become jealous. Belli went on to ask his wife if he could return back to her home, but when they arrived he pushed Mrs Belli through the front door. She then attempted to call the police, Ms Aylwin said.
Catherine Flint, defending, said: "Mr Belli has submitted a number of references from friends, family and former colleagues, which shows a different side to him."He has a previous good standing in the community and the consequences of this conviction are far more devastating, far more far reaching for him than anything this court can impose."The judge Recorder Malcolm Gibney told Belli: "This course of conduct is wholly unacceptable.
