The pro wrestling star reportedly died in his sleep.
Halac’s “Mantaur” character was billed as “half man, half beast,” when he debuted with the company in 1995.
The 6-foot, 400 pounder began wrestling in 1991 with the Catch Wrestling Association before signing with the WWE. He wrestled his first two matches in the WWE as “Bruiser Mastino,” before being repackaged as “Mantaur,” a cartoon-like character who wore a large bull or buffalo-like – something of that ilk — head piece. He would charge at opponents and moo at them in the ring.
Following his first stint with the WWE he moved on to ECW from 1995 until 1996. He spent some time back in the WWE in 1996, too, playing the role of Goldust’s bodyguard. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
