Multiple men have been charged for their alleged roles in kidnapping, torturing and shooting multiple people in Sydney's west.

Police were called to a shop in Claymore on Saturday, August 3 after they were told a 30-year-old man had suffered a gunshot wound to his torso.

Initial inquiries under Strike Force Bellshill led police to believe the incident was targeted and linked to organised crime.Police searched multiple properties in Claymore, Catherine Field, Bradbury, Thirlmere, Oran Park and Eagle Vale. A 24-year-old man allegedly assaulted an officer during the search of a Bradbury property and was arrested.The 24-year-old man was charged with assaulting a police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm and hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of duty.Police also arrested a 26-year-old man from Oran Park, a 23-year-old man from Bradbury, a 21-year-old man from Claymore and a 22-year-old man from Eagle Vale.

The 21-year-old was charged with three counts of shooting at a person with intent to murder, taking/detaining in company with the intent to get an advantage occasioning actual bodily harm and assaulting a person intend criminal activity of criminal group.
