It could soon cost as much as £9 for a pint of beer in the UK next year as inflation continues to rise.
Karl Chessell, of CGA, said: "The double whammy of cost and availability issues is piling huge pressure on operators' margins. Combined with the growing cost-of-living crisis for consumers, it means trading conditions will be very tough over the remainder of 2022." The cost-of-living crisis was catapulted further up the agenda in the Conservative leadership election as new figures showed a worse-than-expected hit in July with the Consumer Prices Index inflation reaching 10.1%, Birmingham Live reports.
