The Rays believe he will be able to go as many as six innings following a 66-pitch effort in his last start. Overall, Springer hit .292/.383/.591 in 122 games. That sparked the Astros, who scored the third-most runs in the major leagues with an average of 5.68 a game.
Dobnak is one of the better human-interest stories of the postseason. He signed with the Twins in 2017 after going undrafted from Division II Alderson-Broadus College in Phillippi, W. Va., and was so certain he wouldn’t be in the major leagues that he scheduled his wedding for the last weekend of the regular season.
