Pleasingly, when challenged, they found that extra gear again.Carlton absorbed the counterattack and prevailed. They always had their greatest assets to fall back on. Coleman medallist Harry McKay took a handful of marks but none more important than the one taken in the backline in the last minute of the contest. Charlie Curnow is getting better weekly.
