Four rushed to Glasgow hospital after Dennistoun tenement fire as residents evacuated
Four people have been rushed to hospital after a major building fire erupted in a Dennistoun tenement building this afternoon.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three men and one woman were taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, while a further three people were checked by paramedics and discharged at the scene.Four fire engines remain at the scene, alongside four police vehicles, as the street remains taped off. Pictures from the scene show the extent of the smoke damage to the outside of window frames on the first floor of the tenement. Meanwhile, several other windows have been opened.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.22pm on Monday, July 17 to reports of a building fire on Bathgate Street, Glasgow.
