Liverpool are seeking a fourth signing of the summer but that may not be the only transfer business before the window closes on September 1
Tick, tock. So continues the countdown to the end of a transfer window that has already seen significant changes in the Liverpool squad.
The pursuit of a prove defensive midfielder, though, proved much more troublesome, with Chelsea thwarting attempts to sign both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia before the Reds made a surprise swoop last Friday to take 30-year-old Japan international captain Wataru Endo from Stuttgart for £16.25m.READ MORE: Juventus take disciplinary action after Liverpool youngster suffers racist abuse
The 26-year-old has made only eight appearances for the Reds in the last two seasons - only one as a Premier League starter - with Championship side Leeds United having been linked with a move for him all summer. "When there are the right players we will have a look," said the Reds boss on Friday. "We are definitely still in the market watching and seeing what is going on and what we can do. We try to strengthen the squad, definitely, and that's it.”
