Frail and wheelchair-bound Queen Elizabeth wanted to show the public she was a “tower of strength” during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations despite knowing she didn't have long left, media commentator Melissa Hoyer has told Sky News Australia.

The media commentator told Sky News Australia host Caroline Di Russo that despite the bombshell revelations the Queen actually went to great lengths to hide her wheelchair during her balcony appearance the 96-year-old looked “perfect”.

The royal commentator said the Queen meeting with new Prime Minister Liz Truss two days before her death was another demonstration of how seriously she took her role.
