A million people have marched in France to protest against the government’s controversial changes to pension reform.
More than a million people nationwide ventured out to demonstrate against the French government’s controversial pension reform, with many protests turning violent as night fell.
Paris was also rocked by violent protests after a mostly peaceful march from Place de la Bastille ending in the Place de l’Opera was marred by a small group of demonstrators who began to wreak havoc. Masked rioters began to smash shop windows, demolish furniture, and set alight masses of rubbish which had accumulated on the street due to a rolling strike from garbage collectors in the capital.
