Like many new mums, the prospect of taking your baby home for the first time is extremely daunting – from the car ride home, to establishing a routine with your little one .
Luke was driving and, because I’d had a C-section as well, I couldn't even climb over to the back or anything. So that was a bit horrible to just leave them in the back of the car as it was a good half an hour, 45 minutes away from our house. He was driving really slow and it felt so long. And then we had a powercut… Four days after we went home, the worst thing ever happened. We had the side of our house knocked down because we're building it at the minute – a major renovation.
Luckily, our neighbours at the best neighbours in the world, and Luke went round and Tom thought on his feet, asked us what we needed and he passed us an extension lead from his house through the window so we could use their power.
