A deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office is recovering after having been struck by an impaired driver early Saturday morning. .
The FCSO said the deputy was working an accident involving a deer early Saturday morning on I-71 SB near US-62 in Pleasant Township when the cruiser was struck by a car. One deputy inside the cruiser was injured and taken to a local hospital. Authorities said he is doing okay. "He is bruised and battered, but a tough cop, and with rest will heal up soon," Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 9 Vice President Brian Steel told ABC 6.The Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted deputies at the scene of this crash.
