The back-rower had feared he’d played his last game for the Panthers after being put on report for a shoulder charge in their grand final qualifier.
Viliame Kikau insists he will only be able to repay the Panthers by winning a second straight premiership after avoiding a grand final week judiciary drama which threatened to rob him of a fairytale Penrith farewell.
But crucially it gives Kikau the chance to have one final game in Penrith colours and a mouth-watering clash with Parramatta’s Isaiah Papali’i at Accor Stadium on Sunday night. “Every game I’ve played this year I’ve played it as my last. Obviously it’s going to be the last-last next week. I’m going to give everything. The goal is to keep my head calm during the week and not think about things too much.
Panthers winger Charlie Staines will also escape with just a $1500 fine after being charged with a grade one shoulder charge on Rabbitohs centre Isaiah Tass.
