Fremantle could benefit from Melbourne’s turmoil, with the Dockers at the front of the Kysaiah Pickett queue if the star forward chooses to formally request a trade. Pickett told the club in his exit interview on Tuesday he was homesick and wanted to be closer to family.
Pickett tells Melbourne he’s homesick. He has family links in both Western Australian and South Australia, but it’s understood the Dockers are fully aware of Pickett’s desire to join them in the upcoming trade period. Fremantle are also set to land Richmond superstar Shai Bolton in the trade period. Pickett signed a four-year deal to remain at the Demons until the end of 2027 and as a contracted player, any decision to trade Pickett would be at Melbourne’s discretion.
