A bushfire emergency warning has been issued for residents in several towns north of Perth, after two teens were charged with starting a blaze in the city's south-east.
The warning extends inland to Indian Ocean Drive and north to Bibby Road including Nambung National Park in parts of Wedge Island, Cooljarloo and Nambung in the Shire of Dandaragan, about 150 kilometres from the state capital.
The bushfire remains out of control and is moving fast in a north-westerly direction, prompting a number of road closures in the region.Residents in Champion Lakes, Southern River and Gosnells - bounded by Tonkin Highway, Albany Highway, Lake Road and Ranford Road - have been allowed to return to their homes tonight "with caution".
"As soon as the wind changed, it was so close to the house that really everyone has been caught off guard," Cassie Coopmeiners told 9News.
