With only a 9-5 halftime advantage, Friendswood put the championship in its back pocket by scoring 12 unanswered points in the third period. That's when Green scored half her points. On Friday, the Lady Mustangs defeated Leaman 33-6 and Southmore 32-9, before toppling Reading 30-14, a junior high out of Richmond, in the semifinals earlier Saturday afternoon.

In the Silver Bracket, League City Intermediate fell to Pearland ISD's Berry Miller Junior High for top honors. But the girls opened with a win over Space Center Intermediate in the semifinals. In Pool A action, the team defeated La Porte 30-14, but lost to San Jacinto Intermediate 34-17, depositing the team in the Silver Bracket on Saturday.
