Cal Halpert is refusing to pay £5000 per month for a box room in Edinburgh so is sleeping under the stars.
A performer at the Edinburgh Fringe has been sleeping in a tent due to hikes in accommodation prices during the festival. Stand-up comic and impressionist Cal Halpert, 30, has come from Newcastle to the festival for the full three weeks but is sleeping on a campsite for the duration.
He continued: "I did panic a little on the first night when the fireworks went off from the Military Tattoo, you can still see them at the campsite. But I was glad it was the Tattoo and not the crematorium down the road! The porta-shower and loo door slams constantly too and I'm sleeping right next to it. People are going in there every two minutes.

I have a battery pack and I charge that during my shows in the venues, and then make sure all my devices are charged. Luckily, the buses here allow you to charge your phones too so I make the most of that."
