From augmenting to disrupting: How AI will tackle complex diseases paid NvidiaAI
It’s hard to imagine a better use for artificial intelligence and machine learning than discovering and advancing the next generation of personalized medicines. With savvy algorithms and modern computing power, we can model human biology like never before, finding treatments for a range of complex diseases and expediting their path to market. This future is now within reach, yet two significant barriers remain. The first is a logistical challenge.
Here at Recursion, we want to improve on this process, to positively impact patients. Our interdisciplinary team combines a deep understanding of human biology with the latest advances in machine learning, to rapidly identify drug candidates that can potentially modify the fundamental biology of diseases. At the same time, through predictive models trained on a unique human biology dataset, we want to anticipate how these drug candidates will work in patients.
We believe that historical data will not be sufficient to power breakthrough predictive models in drug discovery, and that’s why we’ve built an automated platform that allows us to generate a lot of high-quality data that we can control. We collect massive amounts of data alongside rigorously defined control, and test variations to yield rich biological discoveries each week. It’s the industrialization of discovery biology.
