After Michael Braun and Vas Morgan's shut down Halloween in Los Angeles with their-themed soirée last year, there was much anticipation around this year’s concept. Inspired by sets from Stanley Kubrick films, Braun recreated Hollywood’s most iconic scenes as the settings for his annual Halloween bash. The Overlook Hotel from thetook over his pool area and, of course, featured cut-outs of the iconic Grady twins.
Emily Ratajkowski, a vision in black, moved through the shimmering crowd. A casual Mark Ronson caught up with an extravagantly costumed Derek Blasberg. Designer Emily Bode sported one of her much-discussed Halloween costumes . In what may have been the most witty and political costumes, Antoni Porowski and Kevin Harrington dressed as Mar-a-Lago staff, complete with confidential documents stuffed in their shorts.
Late into the night, Sudan Archives electrified attendees with a performance on top of the bar. The energy and creativity served as a reminder of what makes Halloween so fun and freeing—and what makes New York unlike any other city in the world.
