Every day thousands of people across Nottinghamshire take part in the People's Postcode Lottery, where for £12 a month local residents sign up with their postcode to take part in daily draws. A third of every ticket purchased goes to charity and players can win up to £1,000 in the daily prize, which can double or triple if players have two or even three tickets.
The organisation was founded in 2005, and since then more than £1 billion has been raised for good causes across the UK. Each weekend players in two postcodes get lucky with a big win with the Saturday and Sunday Street Prizes. Winners on Saturday, August 12 won £200,000 per ticket, and the winners on Sunday, August 13, won £30,000 per ticket.
