The first part of the £900 means-tested cost of living support will be paid between April 25 and May 17
Millions of households will start to receive a £301 cost of living payment from Tuesday, April 25, as part of the UK Government’s £900 support package for those on means-tested benefits. The Department for Work and Pensions will make payments to some 7.2million households across Great Britain - including 686,000 in Scotland - between April 25 and May 17, 2023.
Breakdown of £301 payments by benefit Qualifying benefits The £301 payment will be made to eligible households receiving the following benefits: Top Money Stories Today Universal Credit eligibility You are eligible for the £301 cost of living payment if you were entitled to a payment, or later found to be entitled to a payment, of Universal Credit for an assessment period that ended in the period January 26, 2023 to February 25, 2023.
It adds: “You are also eligible if you are entitled to one of these benefits for any day during this period but you do not receive a benefit payment because your entitlement is between 1 penny and 9 pence.” People can check their eligibility for Pension Credit using the online calculator on GOV.UK here or by calling the Pension Credit helpline on 0800 99 1234.
