A man directed a furious outburst towards a woman after she woke him from a sleep, wanting him to walk her to a pharmacy.
Benjamin Donnell, prosecuting, said that, on January 20, Wright became annoyed and argumentative when the woman, from whom he was separated, woke him up at the Barnsley Street home. He had said that he would walk with her to a pharmacy, reports HullLive. He had originally been charged with intentional strangulation because of this but the matter was dropped by the prosecution after it accepted that this was not intentional. The woman went to Hull Royal Infirmary suffering a 1cm wound to her left eyebrow area and bruising and tenderness around her eye.
During the earlier Christmas Day assault, Wright admitted slapping the woman, causing bruises, during an argument after they had both been drinking. He denied stamping on her and this was accepted by the prosecution. He used a bare foot during the more serious assault, rather than while he was wearing shoes. "He had been woken up and was in a bad mood," said Mr Watts. Wright claimed that the assaults were "in the context of violence on both sides". He had pleaded guilty to the offences.
