You know the one.

The show has always been comfortable with sex, but the cave scene is the only time it shows any interest in the realm of romance.

While Daenerys and Khal Drogo have their sweeter moments, the sex they have in Season 1 is more about her character development.Last season we saw Grey Worm and Missandei reveal their love for one another, but that sex scene was undercut by dread. So the scene was tender, but also awkward. Jon and Dany’s sex scene on the boat is intercut with the revelation that he is her nephew, and Robb’s romance with Talisa lacks the literal fire of Jon and Ygritte’s big cave scene.

The cave scene also plays with traditional romance in an almost shockingly sincere way for the cynicalWe see Ygritte fully nude, but briefly, because the focus isn’t on her body, but the bond she and Jon will now share. The cave is warmly lit with flickering flames, and the sequence ends with a lovers’ embrace in a hot spring.

But for one brief moment in Season 3, those crazy kids got away from the madness and violence gripping Westeros, and they had fun banging in a cave.and has been republished with permission. Now in its seventh season, Game of Thrones has filled your television with swords, dragons and lots and lots of sex scenes. We've collected the five best.
