A man was seriously assaulted after being set upon by five or six men outside a Glasgow pub over the weekend - and a woman who tried to intervene was also attacked.
The brutal incident took place in Merchant City, in the Howard Street area, on Saturday, March 11 at around 10.30pm. A 45-year-old man was attacked by a group of thugs, leaving him with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.When a 37-year-old woman tried to intervene and help the victim, she was assaulted by one the group.Detective Constable Larissa Cooper said: “We’re carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and identify the men involved.
“If you were in the Howard Street area around the time in question, or have any information which could assist our investigation, please call police on 101, quoting incident 4162 of 11 March. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.
