China has issued a furious response to Australia and the Quad Leaders after United States President Joe Biden warned of “aggressive” Chinese behaviour in the Indo-Pacific.
Beijing has accused Australia and its allies of “ganging up” on China after the Quad Leaders’ Summit in the United States warned of Chinese “aggression” in the Indo-Pacific.
“The US claims not to target China but the topic highest on the agenda is China… The US is lying through its teeth,” he told reporters. In response, Mr Lin fired back on Monday and said: “The Indo-Pacific strategy attempts to patch up forces to exclude and contain China by peddling the ‘China threat narrative'."
“Ganging up to form exclusive groupings undermines the mutual trust and cooperation between regional countries. Tensions have escalated in recent times and last week, US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell said the threats posed by China exceeded those of the Cold War.
