A garbage truck driver faces court charged with manslaughter over the death of a 21-year-old student in an alleged hit and run in Sydney's CBD yesterday.

"The garbage trucks are wide — it was a recipe for disaster unfortunately. It was only a matter of time." Police said he also failed to stop and provide assistance"when he ought to have known that the collision resulted in Mr Lin's death"."It was an accident, an accident," one woman said.It is also alleged the victim was using his mobile phone at the time of the incident but police have been unable to find it.
